Pattern and Syllabus for NTSE Stage II
NTSE Stage-II question paper is divided into 3 sections to attempt. The paper has 200 multiple choice objective type questions of total 200 marks, 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer and 1/3 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. No marks will be awarded or deducted for the unanswered questions.

Preparation Tips for NTSE Stage II
The questions asked in
NTSE 2017 are of the Class IX-X level, therefore it is advisable to refer the NCERT books of Class 9
th and 10
th. If the preparation is done with a strategy it works really well and to plan out one, here are few tips to follow.
- Exam Pattern Analysis: Analyze the NTSE Stage-II exam pattern thoroughly, it will give the idea about each section and will help to figure out how much time and attention each section requires. Identify the important topics and start focusing on them separately.
- Mental Ability Test(MAT): This section of the paper have 50 questions out of which it is required to get 20 questions correct to acquire the cutoff score. It is the toughest section as candidates get only 45 minutes to attempt this section. It has the trickiest questions to test the logical and reasoning ability of the candidate. Use shortcut formulas and tricks to solve questions it will save time. Give your maximum time to practice this section.
- Follow NCERT Books: To prepare subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Social Science it is advisable to follow Class 9th and 10th NCERT books for respective subjects.
- Solve Mock Test Papers: Practice mock test papers daily to hone your time management skill and it will help to get familiar with the NTSE Stage-II exam pattern.
