Physics book to Refer for JEE

Being an IIT-JEE Physics teacher, I can recommend you books pertaining to the syllabus of JEE (Main and Advanced). If IIT-JEE is your target then the best books to follow would be the following :

1) Concepts of Physics - HC Verma (Do only the questions from this book and the solved examples. The book ain't a theory book for beginners.)

2) Problems in Gen. Physics - I E Erodov
(For higher level problems in mechanics,  thermodynamics and electromagnetism)

3) Cengage Publications BM Sharma ( The theory is the same as is taught in Kota but it has some mistakes. The collection of questions is huge and all questions have detailed answers. But again, many mistakes.)

4) Arihant Publication's D C Pandey (only for questions again. Has a compendium type theory which is good for revision).

5) Fundamentals of Physics - Resnick Halliday and University Physics - Sears and Zemansky (both of these books are for theoretical base building and proper understanding of concepts. Nowadays their IIT-JEE versions are also available but contains many mistakes in the exercise part because they are not checked rightly. Remember they are only good for theory.)

6) Best Advice from a Teacher - Go for Sheets prepared by any Institute of Kota which contains theory as well as a large number of questions and do all the questions from them. Leave the advanced level questions which are generally in exercise 3 or 4. Attempt all questions from these sheets and you will notice a change in your physics level gradually. Also buy 38 years IIT-JEE old questions and solve it fully for the best preparation of the said exam.

P. S. If you are a student of other stream then comment and ask the same. I am there for it.
